About this Lesson

As Christians, we're called to live and lead like Jesus. But what exactly does that mean? How do we get started? Leadership requires strategy, strategy requires planning, and planning requires execution. Do you have a strategic plan for your life? If you're like I used to be, then you might feel stuck, flooded by hopes and dreams, but with no real action plan. Without a good framework, and some accountability, it's almost impossible to accomplish your goals. I solved this problem in my live by developing a “working journal” to help me reflect and learn from my mistakes as I pursued what I believed to be God's calling in my life. This reflective process of debriefing is a tactical approach that military leaders, coaches, and executives use for continuous improvement. So I do too, and I call it the Honors Journal. The Honors Journal isn’t a place for my thoughts or feelings. It’s my strategic playbook. I started this reflective practice over a decade ago to better understand the role my strengths and weaknesses play in my outcomes. This iterative approach to journaling has helped me develop better habits, relationships, personal goals, and self awareness. As a followers of Jesus, it’s important that every aspect of our formation honors God. That's why I call it the Honors Journal. So I’ve aligned Biblical principles with the leadership lessons I’ve gleaned from my years as an entrepreneur to help me be a better leader at work and home. I’m currently leading a dozen other guys who want to live and lead like Jesus through this framework now, and if you're up for it, I'd like to invite you to join us. If you're ready, then team up, get a journal, and let's grow!
